Many modern cameras cannot only take still pictures, but also record videos. One difference between the cameras concerns the presence of an on-board flash. The D300S has one, while the Q Typ 116 does not. While the built-in flash of the D300S is not very powerful, it can at times be useful as a fill-in light.
