The SX10 was launched at a markedly lower price (by 33 percent) than the SX1, which puts it into a different market segment. Many modern cameras are not only capable of taking still images, but can also record movies. Both the SX1 and the SX10 have been discontinued, but can regularly be found used on ebay. The SX10 was replaced by the Canon SX20, while the SX1 does not have a direct successor.
