Any camera decision will obviously take relative prices into account. The listed launch prices provide an indication of the market segment that the manufacturer of the cameras have been targeting. The GF5 was launched at a markedly lower price (by 88 percent) than the M-E Typ 240, which puts it into a different market segment. Many modern cameras are not only capable of taking still images, but can also record movies.
