Any camera decision will obviously take relative prices into account. The retail prices at the time of the camera’s release place the model in the market relative to other models in the producer’s line-up and the competition. The G1X Mark II was launched at a lower price than the M-E Typ 240, despite having a lens built in. Many modern cameras cannot only take still pictures, but also record videos. The two cameras under consideration both have sensors whose read-out speed is fast enough to capture moving pictures, but the G1X Mark II provides a higher frame rate than the M-E Typ 240. It is notable that the G1X Mark II offers wifi support, while the M-E Typ 240 does not. Wifi can be a very convenient means to transfer image data to an off-camera location.
