Any camera decision will naturally be influenced heavily by the price. The retail prices at the time of the camera’s release place the model in the market relative to other models in the producer’s line-up and the competition. The G7X Mark II was launched at a markedly lower price (by 30 percent) than the RX100 V, which puts it into a different market segment. Many modern cameras are not only capable of taking still images, but also of capturing video footage. One differentiating feature between the two cameras concerns the touch sensitivity of the rear screen. The G7X Mark II has a touchscreen, while the RX100 V has a conventional panel. The RX100 V is a recent model that features in the current product line-up of Sony. In contrast, the G7X Mark II has been discontinued (but can be found pre-owned on eBay).
