Sony A9 vs NEX-5T

Any camera decision will naturally be influenced heavily by the price. The retail prices at the time of the camera’s release place the model in the market relative to other models in the producer’s line-up and the competition. The NEX-5T was launched at a markedly lower price (by 84 percent) than the A9, which puts it into a different market segment. Usually, retail prices stay at first close to the launch price, but after several months, discounts become available. Sensor comparison: Sony A9 vs NEX-5T
The imaging sensor is at the core of digital cameras and its size is one of the main determining factors of image quality. The A9 has on-sensor phase detect pixels, which results in fast and reliable autofocus acquisition even during live view operation.
The Sony Alpha A9 has a native sensitivity range from ISO 100 to ISO 51200, which can be extended to ISO 50-204800. The corresponding ISO settings for the Sony Alpha NEX-5T are ISO 100 to ISO 25600 (no boost).

One feature that differentiates the A9 and the NEX-5T is in-body image stabilization (IBIS). The A9 reduces the risk of handshake-induced blur with all attached lenses, while the NEX-5T has to rely on optical image stabilization in OIS-equipped lenses to achieve the same effect.The NEX-5T has an articulated screen that can be turned to be front-facing.
