The E-M10 was launched at a markedly lower price (by 72 percent) than the GH5s, which puts it into a different market segment. Many modern cameras are not only capable of taking still images, but can also record movies. One feature that differentiates the E-M10 and the GH5s is in-body image stabilization (IBIS). The E-M10 reduces the risk of handshake-induced blur with all attached lenses, while the GH5s offers no blur reduction with lenses that themselves do not provide optical image stabilization.

The reported shutter speed information refers to the use of the mechanical shutter. Yet, some cameras only have an electronic shutter, while others have an electronic shutter in addition to a mechanical one.
