The price is, of course, an important factor in any camera decision. The listed launch prices provide an indication of the market segment that the manufacturer of the cameras have been targeting. Usually, retail prices stay at first close to the launch price, but after several months, discounts become available. One difference between the cameras concerns the presence of an on-board flash. The FZ1000 II has one, while the NEX-5T does not. While the built-in flash of the FZ1000 II is not very powerful, it can at times be useful as a fill-in light.
