Any camera decision will obviously take relative prices into account. The manufacturer’s suggested retail prices give an idea on the placement of the camera in the maker’s lineup and the broader market. The D3300 was launched at a markedly lower price (by 75 percent) than the A7 II, which puts it into a different market segment. One difference between the cameras concerns the presence of an on-board flash. The D3300 has one, while the A7 II does not. While the built-in flash of the D3300 is not very powerful, it can at times be useful as a fill-in light.
