Any camera decision will obviously take relative prices into account. The manufacturer’s suggested retail prices give an idea on the placement of the camera in the maker’s lineup and the broader market. The RX100 IV was somewhat cheaper (by 5 percent) than the C-LUX at launch, but both cameras fall into the same price category. The size of the sensor inside a digital camera is one of the key determinants of image quality. One differentiating feature between the two cameras concerns the touch sensitivity of the rear screen. The C-LUX has a touchscreen, while the RX100 IV has a conventional panel.
