Any camera decision will naturally be influenced heavily by the price. The listed launch prices provide an indication of the market segment that the manufacturer of the cameras have been targeting. The SX540 was launched at a lower price than the E-M5 III, despite having a lens built in. One difference between the cameras concerns the presence of an on-board flash. The SX540 has one, while the E-M5 III does not. While the built-in flash of the SX540 is not very powerful, it can at times be useful as a fill-in light.
