Any camera decision will naturally be influenced heavily by the price. The retail prices at the time of the camera’s release place the model in the market relative to other models in the producer’s line-up and the competition. The SX430 was launched at a markedly lower price (by 33 percent) than the HX350, which puts it into a different market segment. Many modern cameras are not only capable of taking still images, but also of capturing video footage. Both the SX430 and the HX350 have zoom lenses built in. The SX430 has a 24-1080mm f/3.5-6.6 optic and the HX350 offers a 24-1200mm f/2.8-6.3 (focal lengths in full frame equivalent terms). It is notable that the SX430 offers wifi support, while the HX350 does not. Wifi can be a very convenient means to transfer image data to an off-camera location.
