The price is, of course, an important factor in any camera decision. The listed launch prices provide an indication of the market segment that the manufacturer of the cameras have been targeting. The SX540 was launched at a lower price than the Canon R, despite having a lens built in. One feature that is present on the Canon R, but is missing on the SX540 is a top-level LCD.
