Any camera decision will obviously take relative prices into account. The retail prices at the time of the camera’s release place the model in the market relative to other models in the producer’s line-up and the competition. The X-H2S was launched at a markedly lower price (by 29 percent) than the 5D Mark IV, which puts it into a different market segment. The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV has a native sensitivity range from ISO 100 to ISO 32000, which can be extended to ISO 50-102400. The corresponding ISO settings for the Fujifilm X-H2S are ISO 160 to ISO 12800, with the possibility to increase the ISO range to 80-51200.

In terms of underlying technology, the 5D Mark IV is build around a CMOS sensor, while the X-H2S uses a Stacked BSI-CMOS imager. Many modern cameras are not only capable of taking still images, but can also record movies.
